The Band Perry works the crowd

Members of country group The Band Perry Neil Perry, left, Kimberly Perry and Reid Perry perform on the plaza on June 1, 2012. Kimberly told Ann Curry she couldn't believe the huge crowd that turned out for the concert. The trio played "All your Life," "Postcards" and "If I Die Young." 




Pitbull brings the party

Pitbull, a.k.a. "Mr. 305," gets the morning plaza crowd up and dancing with his hits on May 25, 2012. Suited up, the star also tells TODAY about writing music for "Men in Black" and clarifies that his music is "global" and shouldn't be pigeonholed.
 


Maroon 5 gets fans hype

Band Maroon 5 plays the plaza on June 29, sharing song "One More NIght" from their latest album, "Overexposed," with 12,000 fans. "I love being in my band," said singer Adam Levine.



Hot Chelle Rae heats up fans

Nash Overstreet and Ryan Follese, members of Hot Chelle Rae, performed their hits "Tonight, Tonight" and "I Like It Like That" for fans on the plaza during the 2012 Toyota Concert Series on July 20, 2012.


Carrie Underwood belts it out

Carrie Underwood gets the crowd going on the plaza while performing her 15th number one single, “Good Girl,” and one of her first big hits, “Before He Cheats,” on August 15, 2012.
 


Nicki Minaj heats up the plaza

A red hot Nicki Minaj rocked the plaza stage with a performance of her hit song, “Starships,” and a medley of “I Am Your Leader” and “Beez in the Trap” on August 14, 2012.



Bieber brings the fever

An army of Beliebers when Justin Bieber took over the TODAY plaza stage on June 15, 2012. Many fans had camped out days before, and their wait was rewarded with performances of 'Boyfriend,' 'Baby' and 'All Around the World.' The teen idol later assured Lauer he's all right after suffering a concussion last month in Paris.
